Special Day

Today is a very special day. Our friend Peyton is graduating from the Police Academy. Bradley and I are planning on going to graduation tonight but it will be around bedtime so Emma is going to stay at the house with Tay Tay. Since she will be unable to attend she colored a card for me to take to him! We are so proud of him-Congrats Policeman Peyton!!!
Of course, card coloring is hard work and sometimes you just need to lay back and put your feet up! Since it is almost Halloween, I am trying to get Emma to wear all of her Halloween shirts this week. We are also trying to squeeze in the skirts before it gets too cold. Yesterday was a little chilly so I figured she could wear her leggings with the skirt. Here she is showing me her belly button-this is the new trick we have learned.
And when we play in her room, she always wants to pull out the Bumbo! It is so hard for her to get out of, but she loves sitting in it.

Monday Funday!

Yesterday we had a fun day at the office! Grace and Reagan came to visit while their dad went on some interviews. The girls had a blast. Emma and Grace ran all over the office while Reagan was crawling not far behind-she is a fast little sucker. Oh, and speaking of Reagan-is she not the happiest looking baby? I think the only time we heard her make an unhappy noise was when we put her in the exersaucer-she wanted to crawl around, not stay in that thing!
Emma is obsessed with baby Reagan-for some reason she likes to pat her on the head! I don't know where she got this-it is not like I pat her on the head.
Honey and Granddaddy with their Grandchildren
I also had a fun day yesterday. I was really happy to meet a fellow blogger that was in town. We had been trying to work out a time to get together while she was in town and it was hard. But after the kiddos went to bed last night we were able to squeeze in a short visit. M-I am glad y'all got to stop by and enjoyed meeting you, hopefully we can do it again sometime!

The Productive Weekend I was looking for

I am proud to report that I had a very productive weekend. Last weekend I thought I was going to get so much done but then I didn't end up doing any of my jobs. Luckily that drive followed through to this weekend and I did get some things done.
On Friday we went to Pottery Barn outlet and picked up the TV stand. Yes, it is actually a sofa table but I have been looking for something like this for a long time and was so excited to finally find it. We have a pretty narrow space where we have our TV so this narrow table works perfectly. Now, please excuse all our mess of cords right now. During my productive weekend I didn't have a chance to get to Home Depot to get some cord keeper things!
Bradley left around noon on Saturday to go to a friend's cabin to have a guy's night. One of their friends from out of town was in town and they went to watch football and shoot guns-so manly! Emma went to take a nap shortly after he left and I got to work. See getting a new TV stand meant it freed up the current piece (bottom of a entertainment center)to put back together and move somewhere else. Well moving that meant moving another piece and so on. During the span of Emma's three hour nap, I had moved furniture in four rooms!
While moving stuff around I also hung a picture in our bathroom. I am trying really hard to work on our bathroom and I had ordered this black and white picture for in there. I know it is kinda hard to see here because of the lights over the vanity but you get the idea.

There is the full entertainment center in our bedroom. Oh and I also got to move one of my favorite chairs into our room so that excites me too!
Here is the view from our bed. Sorry, I wasn't taking a picture with our bed in there because I was lazy today and didn't make the bed. Well there used to be a dresser there so it had to be moved to the guest room-it belongs there anyway with it's matching piece!
I also got this picture in the mail on Friday. It came with the black and white. I am pretty sure it is going in our bedroom on our blank wall. I just have to find a frame. It is 16x20 so I think I will have to go to Hobby Lobby or Michael's to find a frame that big. Funny thing, when I got home on Friday Bradley had already gotten the mail. He opened up the package and looked at the picture. When he got in the car he told me that I had gotten a picture the size of a map in the mail today! He thought it was huge!
Besides rearranging my house and doing about 10 loads of laundry I did manage to get some sewing done. A while back my mom ordered this dress for Emma and I embroidered it and got it ready for Christmas.
My big projects right now are working on getting all of these Mixed Bags embroidered. You can tell by the stack that I have quite a few to get done!

After getting all of that done this weekend, I didn't get any picture of Emma. Sorry!

Too Fast!

These girls are growing up too fast! They are not suppose to be practicing their driving yet. I found this picture when I downloaded the pictures of Emma from last weekend. We could only figure the last time the girls were together at Honey's house was when my sister got married and Emma stayed with them. Guess the girls need some stuff to do one morning and the garage seemed like a good place to play!

Pumpkin People=Bad!

I promise I am not going to turn into a once a week blogger. I got busy this week and just got my pictures downloaded yesterday. Then I had a fundraiser to go to last night, so by the time I got home I was too tired.
Most of these pictures are from last weekend when Emma went to the lake with Honey and Granddaddy. It was Honey's birthday weekend and Emma enjoyed playing in the boxes from Honey's gifts. They also did lots of sliding on the swing set and they told me that Emma is learning to climb the stairs (with some help!) On Sunday they left the lake early in order to stop at this huge pumpkin patch on the way home. This was Emma's first trip to any pumpkin patch and it looks like she had a great time. She came home with three mini pumpkins that she calls "balls". We have to be careful because she likes to throw them and kick them just like some of her toy balls! Currently, they are safely resting on our counter top.
They said her favorite part of the pumpkin patch was riding in the wagon-not a big surprise. However, when they came across these "pumpkin people" she was not excited at all! I think you can see how she feels about them from the picture below.
It was really hard to get a picture of her where she was looking at the camera because there were people everywhere! She wanted to check everything out.

Even though she is not looking in this picture, I love it because of all of the bright colors!
I told you she loved those little pumpkins!
I am sure you have been waiting on pins and needles to find out what we did while Emma was gone. I would love to tell you we got all kinds of projects complete, but we did not! We enjoyed a very relaxing dinner with friends-and no kids-on Friday night. Then on Saturday I promise that I didn't leave the house once! I pretty much didn't leave the couch. Now you might think that sounds lazy but I very rarely get to do that, honestly, I never get to do that. I loved it, even though by dinner time, I was starting to feel restless. Sunday I did get around to do some sewing projects, but mainly I just took advantage of the quiet time in our house!
This week has been a lot of work, going home and fixing dinner and doing some more work. I can really tell the holidays are around the corner because I am getting busy!
The other night Bradley and I were sitting in bed and I was downloading some pictures. This one came across the screen and he said that he had a title for it. "Got Milk, Yogurt, or Flood Water?"
So yeah, it is pretty funny. I didn't realize until I put her jeans on the other day that they are too short. I don't know if this means she had a growth spurt or they shrank up in the dryer. I guess I will be buying some new jeans this weekend.

Lastly, I wanted to show off one of my new products on my website and also Emma's Halloween bag! If the weather clears up I was hoping to go to Boo Zoo tonight, anyone else want to join?

17 months and a Free Weekend

This little miss turned 17 months yesterday. I have given up on the signs. I can't keep her still long enough to hold a sign. I will just have to label my posts with her age milestones and remember that way! She gave me such a good smile last night when I asked to take her picture-surprising since she was actually laying with her dad trying to go to sleep.

I found the following two pictures yesterday when sorting through our 16 month pics. I organize all of my pictures through Kodak Gallery and at the end of every month I send out the previous month's photos to our family. That way they can see the pictures we have taken, even if they don't make it to the blog. So, I found these two that never made it but I thought were cute.
The first...I have been trying to work on getting Emma to say "Trick or Treat". She just laughs at me when I ask her to say it! We haven't made a lot of progress on it, but she loves toting that pumpkin around.
Yes, I broke down and bought my child riding boots. I don't even have any, but Emma does! My sister will probably hate them because she tends to not like fad items. I do think they are super cute and will look really cute with tights!
Here Emma is with Granddaddy, or Gran da as she is now calling him, and our two office dogs. Buck and Sue have adopted our office as their new home and Emma really loves them. She looks for them out the window all of the time!

Well, Emmy is gone for the weekend and I don't even know where to start. What am I going to do with my time? She loaded up in the car to go to the lake with Honey and Granddaddy this weekend. This morning as I was getting ready I was thinking of all of the things that I could get done this weekend.

-paint the front door

-redo the bathroom (yeah, that is a pretty tall order)

-touch up house paint (painting would be much easier w/out a baby around)

-SLEEP IN

-sew

-go to a MOVIE-don't think we have done that is 17 months!

I even thought I might go ahead and make progress on my home improvements and go straight to Home Depot after work. Well, now it is nearing 3 in the afternoon and I am thinking I will probably just go home and get ready to go eat some Mexican with our friends! Yes, we love to resort to Mexican on a Friday night.

Have a great weekend!

Welcome to my New House!

No, we did not move to a new house. Although, that would explain my mom's absence in blogging. It is just that she has been super busy sewing, or at least that is what she says. She usually doesn't start until after I go to bed!
Today the UPS man brought this really cool playhouse to the office. It came with markers to color it but my mom thinks it is not a good idea to teach me to color on the house!
I love this new play house. It has two doors-front and back so I can run circles around and through this house! It also has lots of windows for me to look out. Oh, and I might have tried to enter the house through the window tonight.
I almost forgot to tell you about the cool mail slot.
I would have never guessed that my "lilah" and "dog" like this house also. However, they don't want to go in there when I am in-guess they might think I would lock them in!
What a surprise-my dad was waiting in my house for me to come and play!
Lindsay, thank you so much for telling my mom about this cool house. I love it!
Maybe someday my mom will get around to changing our header to something a little bit more fallish!

GameDay

Today at Kelly's Korner we are sharing our teams and football traditions. I have been so excited for this week-I love talking about my OLE MISS REBELS and THE GROVE! What a subject close to my heart. I live in a house divided-meaning my husband pulls for Univ. of Tenn and I pull for Ole Miss. We are pretty good about cheering for the other person's team when they are not playing each other. Please help us in November when we make our trip to the Grove for the Tennessee game!

So a few weeks ago I did something I never do-I updated my Facebook status. I don't know why, but I just don't get into updating my status. I posted a big ole "Hotty Toddy" the day the Rebels were set to play South Carolina. Well we all know how that turned out-horrible-so no more Facebook updates for me! I am hoping this post won't hurt my Rebels for tomorrow.
The Grove is a place like no other. During the week you can find students playing frisbee and studying on the grass in the Grove but Gameday comes and it is a totally different story! The Grove becomes a sea of tents with satelite dishes and catered food. Girls in their dresses and heels and guys in the ties walk along the sideways and find their way into their parent's tents to grab some food and drinks before making it to the stadium.
Every little girl needs a gameday outfit...or maybe two!
Tomorrow during our big game we are going over to a friend's house to watch the game and have a little playdate. Our friend Caroline's dad Matt is a HUGH Bama fan! But we are going to be good ladies and not cheer too loudly-Bradley said if I got out of hand we would have to leave. What, me, get out of hand over football-never! Well, maybe sometimes-maybe last weekend I did say some mean things to my husband about my team winning and his losing...yeah, not too nice! We will be on our best behaviour tomorrow.
This is the only picture I could actually find of myself in the Grove. I have others from college but they weren't digital and were at home. I have this picture that I love of Bradley and I in the Stadium. It was one of those times we stayed the whole game-because we beat Florida. I was a senior and Eli Manning was our QB. It was a great game and the goal post came down. Students marched them through the grove and it was wonderful-I have chill bumps just talking about it! I am going to try to go home and find those pictures-maybe update this post later. Until then-HOTTY TODDY!!!
So I guess there is only one thing left to say...
ARE YOU READY???
Oh, I can almost hear the band playing slow Dixie...

Can you Understand This?

I love listening to Emma babble. I just wonder what she is saying? It is usually so hard to catch her doing this because she stops as soon as I turn the camera on. I guess she was really caught up in her reading today!

This video is really for CiCi, since we are now communicating via this blog and comments! I wanted to try to catch Emma saying Guiness' name for them.

Sharing the Goodness

Ok, I am a few days late on sharing this...October is already started but better late than never. This post is really for my Memphis friends since it is about a month long sale at a local children's store. Now, I don't want to promote Cottontails over my own Emma's Closet but let's face it-they carry things I don't. If you want cute personalized shirts-come to Emma's Closet. If you are looking for a new pink hairbow today(like I am)-I would head over to Cottontails!
And if you haven't went over to my friend Sarah's blog and entered her giveaway-You should run there now! I mean who wouldn't want cute reusable monogram tote bags?

Happy Fall

Fall is officially here. The weather is cool and I made chili this weekend! I pretty much refuse to make chili in the summer time-way too hot! Bradley loves chili and is always asking for it so when it gets cool I give in.

So, the reunion recap. I had a lot of fun and was really glad that I went. We went to the school on Friday night and watched a little football. Emma really enjoyed going to the game and liked dancing along to the band. Needless to say, she feel asleep on the way home.
We got up on Saturday morning and went to the family brunch at the park. More people came to this event than Friday and it was fun to let the kids play at the playground. After brunch we went and picked up Taylor because she kindly agreed to be our babysitter for Saturday night!

I took advantage of Emma's afternoon nap and Taylor being at our house to go do some shopping by myself-oh wondrous! I was on a hunt for some fall black shoes. See, I am a bit of a shoe fanantic and it is hard for me to pass up a good pair of heels! In fact, I am such a sucker for a cute pair of shoes that I often end up getting ones that hurt my feet-but no worries-I still get their wear out of them. No pain, no gain-right? So after a night on my feet in new heels-my feet were killing me on Sunday.

Saturday night we went to the cocktail reception. This was the event that most people attended. I can understand this because probably if I hadn't had a child that I wanted to wear out we wouldn't have gone to the brunch. I had fun catching up and talking to people I hadn't seen in 10 years.

Moral of this whole story: I was glad I attended my reunion and if you are contemplating attending yours, I would say at least give one event a try!

I made my chili on Sunday night while we watched some football and I am continuing that football watching as I type. As we speak, I am only 3.5 pts. behind in my game and we each have someone from the Vikings playing! Gotta keep my winning streak alive.

Someone was still tired from our weekend this morning.
Other random thoughts I have right now:
-I miss my sister. She is gone on her honeymoon and I can't talk to her-she did g chat with me a little today! I am so used to talking to her everyday that I already miss her. And she won't be back until Saturday!
-we are keeping their dog while they are gone. Courtney, if you are reading this-Emma starting calling him guin guin tonight. She laughs at the dog and then wants him to chase her.
