Anna Claire turned 1 week this past Friday.  I am a few days late getting the pictures posted but we actually got out of the house this weekend!

Late night discoveries

I am sure anyone that has ever had a sleepless night knows there is not much to pick from when it comes to TV selection in the middle of the night. Since I am getting up multiple times right now at weird times during the night I will confirm that is still the case! Most of the time our TV ends up on ESPN during the night because it is one of the few stations without paid programming. I wanted to let all of you ladies out there know that if you are scared your significant other might forget Valentine's Day, let them tune into ESPN-about once an hour they flash a big sign on the screen stating how many days until Valentine's. Great idea!  So go ahead and let ESPN rule in your house this weekend-maybe it will earn you some extra goodies on Valentines!

Today Anna Claire was wearing one of the gowns that I had from Emma.  I got some pictures so I could compare.  What do you think-Emma in the first two, Anna Claire in the next two?

I thought we lived in the South?

Anyone that has read this blog for any length of time knows that Bradley and I love to vacation in the snow.  I am pretty sure that since I have known Bradley there has not been a year that he hasn't been snowboarding at least once a year-well, except this year!

So we love the snow but also love that we live in the South and the climate that comes with it.  This winter has been CRAZY!  I don't know for sure but I really think it has snowed here at least 3 times maybe more-and that is real snow that stays on the ground.  We woke up yesterday and it was snowing-huge snowflakes that covered the ground quickly.  We decided not to take Emma to school really because we thought we might have to turn around and go back and get her pretty soon.  The snow did cover the streets but it didn't stay too long.  She could havegone to school but it didn't hurt her to stay home either!  And we are suppose to get another winter storm starting tomorrow!
My mom and I ventured out in the afternoon to take Anna Claire to her first doctor's appointment.
Her 3 day stats:
weight: 7lbs, 1 oz-25th percentile
height: 20 inches-25th percentile
head is in the 50th percentile

we will take her back when she is 2 weeks old.
As of now she has been a pretty easy baby.  She is usually waking up about every three hours to eat.  She usually stays awake for 30 minutes to an hour after she eats and then she is out again.  This is pretty much what she does day and night so I really can't complain-I am getting some decent sleep!

In our car seat ready to go to the doctor.
While we went to the doctor Emma stayed with Bradley.  He had told her that she could go out and play in the snow so that is what they did.  I asked him to get a picture of her with the sign in our yard.  When we pulled up on Saturday Emma said "there is a big duck in our yard".  My mom and sister are the responsible parties for the stork in the yard.  I love it-there is a story behind it.  When Courtney was born someone got a similar sign at my parent's house.  We have a picture on it with me standing beside it with my new Cabbage Patch doll.  I will have to try and get my mom to find the picture and post it.

2/6/11

Just some pictures that we have taken today.  Now I am all caught up on my new pictures!  We really didn't do anything today.  Bradley left the house to get breakfast and I left once with my mom to go to Target and that was it!  Emma goes back to school tomorrow and Bradley is going to go into the office for a while so it will just be me and Anna Claire tomorrow.  Considering the amount of sleep she is doing right now I think I can handle it!  However, I know all that sleep will start to change to more awake time so I should definitely enjoy being able to get things done while I can!
We had a little sponge bath today.  Emma did great helping-she washed down Anna Claire's feet and legs and then helped picked her out something to wear.  I guess she was also holding (wearing) the towel in this picture!

Bradley took these while I was at Target-love them.  I told you that she was really into holding her!

Pictures from 2/5/11

We got to come home from the hospital on Saturday.  We had to stay until at 3ish and then they let us load up.  We could have stayed till Sunday but I just felt that I might be more comfortable in my own bed at home and I was right.  The first night at home was pretty good.  We got multiple 3 hour stretches of sleep.

These are various pictures from Saturday.
The balloons-on the way to bring Emma to the hospital Courtney took Emma to the store and let her pick out balloons.  Emma picked out a balloon for each person in our family.  I loved her telling me who got each balloon and it meant so much to know that she thought about something for everyone-even herself-she got the Disney Princess!

Anna Claire has arrived

Anna Claire arrived 2/4/2011 at 1:07pm.  She weighed in at 7lbs 7oz. and was 20 inches long.  We got to go home on Saturday afternoon and have been enjoying getting adjusted to our new family of four.  I wanted to go ahead and try and get caught up on my pictures before I get too far behind.
This was the first time Emma got to hold and meet Anna Claire.  That look is just priceless-I laugh out loud every time I see this picture.  She did end up warming up to her as the afternoon went on and now it is hard to get her away from her.  She loves holding her little sister!

I would say that the baby doll that we got Emma was a hit.  She loved the backpack that came with it and has probably packed and unpacked that backpack who knows how many times!

Some Random Pics from a Normal Day

We are down to the final countdown for Anna Claire.  I promise to try and show nursery pictures before she comes!  We really just need to finish hanging things on the wall and we should be set.
These are really just a few misc pictures and video that might not mean that much to you but I want to remember.  One of my goals while I am home with Anna Claire is that I want to work on getting my blog books published.  I didn't even buy a baby book for Anna Claire because I knew I wouldn't keep up-I was much better about writing Emma's stat, etc on the blog so I will just keep on doing that!

The other day I wanted to go to this baby store that was closing so Bradley took Emma to TJ Max.  He letting her pick out one thing when they were in there and she picked the Princess Backpack.  The funny thing is he said she almost traded in the backpack to get a set of wash cloths at the last minute!  Like she doesn't have any at home!!!

This is what I see most mornings when we go to school and it is raining.  She loves this umbrella-don't ask me why she is currently obsessed with them, but she is!  Bradley says she is just the happiest thing walking in with her umbrella, which if you know Emma then you know she is not the best morning person!

I know you wished you lived at our house so you could experience this instrument playing and marching on a regular basis.  Just kidding, I actually enjoy watching her pretend-it is so funny what they catch on to-even when you think they aren't paying attention.
