Game Days

So I know Saturdays are most people's favorite day of the week, but fall brings alot of excitement to our house. The start of football season is like a holiday at our house. Saturdays bring college football and Sundays it is time for the pros and FANTASY! We love our fantasy leagues. We are in four each. College football is definitely my favorite. Nothing can beat the excitement of college football and most importantly SEC football!
Usually, we try to make it to at least two actual games a year, one Ole Miss game and one Tennessee game. I don't think we are going to make it to any actual games this year-but I know we will next year. Tennessee is playing at Ole Miss next year-I am thinking big tent in the grove with all our friends!! Even when we can't make it to the game we still cheer for our teams from home.

Emma watching the Ole Miss/Auburn game with her dad. Thank you, Courtney for her game day outfit! Ole Miss gals-do you think this dress is classified as "grove attire"? My sister and I recently had a discussion about "grove attire". She asked me about what she should wear to a certain wedding event and I responded with "grove attire". We both just started laughing because only people that are familiar with Ole Miss and the Grove would think and understand that "grove attire" would be a proper answer to this question.

Emma and Cassidy cheering the Rebels to victory. All Emma needs now is a "Pi Phi loves our Rebs" sticker!
Unfortunately, dad's team didn't do so hot in their game! Emma cheered for about an hour-then it got to be bed time! She really didn't miss anything.
Not wanting to watch what was happening to the Vols!

Happy Halloween Part 2

Our little pumpkin was a pumpkin for her first Halloween! We started our Halloween celebrations pretty early-you have to if you go to bed around 7pm!

We were dressed up when we went to pick up Taylor from school.

Then we went to see Aunt Teresa and show off Emma's costume.

Next we went to MiMi and Daddy Mac's house where Emma got this cool toy-no candy this year! That was about the extent of Emma's Halloween festivities. We went to eat on the Collierville square and Emma fell asleep during dinner.
Pictures at the Square. I loved this picture because Emma looks so happy! I think she is probably making one of her talking noises here.
We didn't make it to the Pumpkin Patch this year, but the Square had these little areas set up with pumpkins and hay. They worked just as well for photo ops! After dinner we stopped by the Webb's house for Emma to Trick or Treat!
Overall, our Halloween was pretty low key-I am sure next year will be much more fast paced!

Catching Up

Sorry for my delay in posting. Our whole house came down with a stomach flu last week and I didn't really want to do anything except lay on the couch. While we were sick Emma turned 5 months old. So here goes my catchup post!

EVER WONDER WHAT 12 HOURS OF SLEEP LOOKS LIKE
We have been extremely lucky in the fact that Emma has been sleeping all night since she was around three months old. She must take after her dad in this respect! She will usually go to be around 7:30 and gets up around 7:30 before we go to work. This is what you look like in the morning if you get a solid 12 hours of sleep...

...and who does this look like?

Bradley when he was around 1 year old. I can definitely see the resemblance!

PHOTO SHOOT WITH OUR NEW BLOCKS
I got these soft blocks at Target. They were a hit with Emma...I should have known that something cheap would be great! Mainly I like these pictures because we got to use our special feature on our camera.

5 MONTHS OLD
At 5 months, Emma is really starting to move around. She has totally mastered rolling over both ways and can get where she wants by rolling. She is getting up on her hands and knees and rocking, no crawling yet-but it is coming. She can sit unassisted for long periods of time and loves to sit up and play with her toys.
We have also started eating real food-I wouldn't exactly call these solid foods, however the doctor does! Emma loves bananas, applesauce, peaches, squash and sweet potatoes. She will eat peas but doesn't really like them.

Give us some snow!!!

I know it is a bit early to start wishing for snow, especially since I know we won't get any. So maybe my wish should be a trip to the snow. Snow in Memphis does me no good-you can't ski here and it just makes the driving crazy! I can't wait till we can go on our first family ski/snowboard trip. If I had to guess we will probably try to take Emma out west next winter. I am not exactly how young is too young to begin skiing but I am sure that as soon as she can, Bradley will have her in the snow. Until that time we will just opt for putting her in toboggans and pretending we are somewhere cold-it has been a bit cool here in the mornings! Our family loves wearing toboggans in the winter and it looks like Emma is going to be no exception to the rule.
Here is Bradley and I in Vail when he was working in Beaver Creek. I am trying to post some more pictures of myself. I have been told that I have to be careful or I will look back and will have tons of pics of Emma and none with me in them.
On our honeymoon after a long day on the slopes! Actually, I think Bradley had a long day on the slopes and I met him in the bar. Usually I am a trooper on the slopes and will stay out all day but when we were in Whistler we could never get my skis to fit right so I just couldn't stay out all day.
Another pic from our honeymoon. This is my favorite toboggan, my Spyder toboggan, and I think the tassel in the back has fallen off but I still wear it. I am trying to find a baby Spyder hat, but I am having some trouble. Oh, and let me clarify-the hats that I am talking about are called toboggans, but if you look up the word toboggan it says something about a sled. Bradley said toboggans are sleds in the north. In the west they are hats!
Ok, so the pics you are really wanting to see are those of cutie Emma in her toboggans so here you go. Here is the first day of hats. I did not dress Emma this day and yes she has on a toboggan, pajamas, baby legs and shoes-but she looks happy so that is all that matters!
Second day of toboggan wearing...much cuter...the other one was still alittle big.
After we got to work she was still wearing her toboggan and playing in her exersaucer. I know she has a trail of drool hanging down-that is our life these days!
This is the better picture-less drool
I thought this pic was cute. Emma usually wakes up about 30 minutes before we leave for work so sometimes I go ahead and get her ready to go and then she plays in her bed until I am ready. Today I went ahead and put her baby legs and hat on her and then went to put on my makeup. When I came back this is what I found. I guess the hat had slipped down over her eyes and she figured since it was dark she might as well go back to sleep. I guess if you have a baby that resist sleep you can always try a toboggan!
Who would have ever thought I would have written a post about toboggans. I think this post was really starting out about how much we love the snow but just took a turn.

First Ride in my Wagon

The weather has been so nice lately so we decided to pull out Emma's wagon and try it out. Of course she can't sit up by herself yet so we had to use some pillows. We have had this wagon forever. My dad got it for Emma when we first found out that we were having a girl! I was cleaning out our storage room this week and uncovered the wagon. I am currently working on changing our back living room into a playroom for Emma, which is why I was also working in the storage room. I will share pictures of Emma's new play area when my little project is finished.
